American Style Sushi

sushi_sand_big.gifMy husband is an American, but he likes Japanese food very much, especially sushi. But, we are not so well off as to afford to go to a sushi restaurant. Also, tuna or yellow tail is a luxury for us. Thus, for us, sushi means “gomoku sushi (sushi rice with mixed ingredients).”

One evening, my husband gladly ate the gomoku sushi that I had made. I had made a lot of it so that I didn’t have to fix dinner the next day. The next morning, though, I saw something weird.

My husband was eating the leftover gomoku sushi with bread as a sandwich. He said, “By doing this, you can enjoy both bread and sushi at once.” I wonder if he really enjoyed it…

The other day, I cooked osekihan (red rice with red beans). The next morning, of course, I didn’t miss the pinkish stuff between two pieces of bread that my husband was eating.
